riding in the rain

Ieri e' stato sorprendente. Dovevo saperlo, l'altro ieri ero riuscito a dare una sommaria ripulita all'Insetto Scoppiettante dopo il viaggio in tutta quella sabbia e polvere, era ovvio che avrebbe piovuto. Potete vederlo da soli nella foto, non ci credereste che e' stata scattata alle 9 del mattino il 23 di agosto: la strada e' bagnata ed anche i pini, gli automobilisti mi spruzzano l'acqua sulla visiera. Ho deciso di andare comunque al lavoro in Vespa, anche se non ho l'abbigliamento adatto. Il mio giacchetto e' solo parzialmente impermeabile, e tutto quello che ho e' un poncho di plastica ad aiutarmi se le cose si mettono male.

Essere coraggiosi era una scommessa, e l'ho vinta: la sera il sole splendeva e l'aria era cristallina, perfetta per godersi un piccolo ritardo a casa e scattare qualche foto.

Yesterday it was a surprise. I should have known, the day before yesterday I succeeded in giving a rough clean to the Chuggabug after the trip in all that sand and dust, so it was obviously going to rain. You may see it by yourself looking at the picture, you wouldn't believe it's 0900 am of August 23rd: the road is wet, so the pine trees, and the car drivers are spraying water on my visor. I decided to go however to work with my Vespa, even though I haven't got the right gear. My jacket is only partially waterproof, and all I have is a plastic poncho to help if things get worse.
Being brave was a bet and I won it: in the evening the sun was shining and the air crystal clear, perfect to enjoy a short delay home to shoot some photograph.
