allagamento inaspettato (?) - unexpected (?) flood

Indovinate? Piove.

Guess what? It rains. It's damn been raining for too much time. Nonetheless, The Chuggabug doesn't give up; this morning the province road n.23 "Della Principessa" (it means "of the Princess") was interrupted at "del Lago" road crossroad. The reason? The police told me that to go on I needed a boat! So I had to turn into "del Lago" road, seeing that the fields were flooded as well; passing through Caduta up to reach State Road n.1 and reaching S.Vincenzo from there. I obviously couldn't but go and take a look so, passing through Podere S.Luigi, I reached the crime scene. You can see it by yourselves in the pictures.

A mud pool invades the roadway and it seems it was even worse. By the way what could we have expected? There's just one way to drain the water and its flow is cut off by a concrete wall and now even by the marvelous riddle of the bicycle lane, the beautiful and most useful bicycle lane which ninety per cent of the persons I talk aboout it tell me they'd make it explode with lots of TNT.
It's not the first time at all the road is flooded that way and we can only say that it's a canal maintenance and a wrong slope fault but it's also mostly due to the blindness of those who still don't see that a blessed concrete wall is blocking the water flow. But if we had to spend public money, before building an expensive and useless bicycle lane, even before building those stupid road humps with sharp corners which cut our tires, wasn't it smart to level the ground and regulate the water flow in that very place where the road gets constantly and disastrously flooded?
Yes, I like riding through the countryside, but - the municipality might find it funny - I usually WORK on weekdays and none gives me gasoline or tires for free, neither the time I waste to do forced touristic rides.

  1. ora. lavori...

  2. I'm glad you put English translations here. I speak Spanish and can puzzle out some of it because of the shared Latin. But what a lot of work!

Those floods aren't funny at all.
