Di nuovo in corsia veloce - Back in the fast lane

As many of you have surely read, our dear Steve Williams of Scooter in the Sticks took the decision to stop his blog, causing disappointment in many other bloggers and passionate readers. Me too, at first, was bewildered by this decision, especially now that his Vespa posts were alternated with his photographic project.
As usual, after the first impact sense prevailed over feelings; I read the many comments I imagined to read, I read posts that reported these news on friends and colleagues bikers' blogs, until I drawed a conclusion: we all must do our best. It's not blogging as Steve's appendices that we create something unique, but developing our individuality, adding our substantial contribution to the world of scootering and passionate motorcycling. We must show we can walk on our legs, or better, ride on our wheels, and make sure that our readers can find in all of us what we first found in Scooter in the Sticks: a good example of blogging, approach to the world around us, professional journalism, photography and design. As for me, I mainly relay on my Vespa on an utilitarian basis although walkin' hand in hand with pure passion, so there's no choice: I have to go. I can't decide whether to ride the usual road or divert through the fields, I can't choose to take the car unless it is a serious need because I'd steal it from my family. I have to go. And I am paid back by days that are becoming nicer everyday, and the light among the pines forces me to stop. I have to go. I have to ride again along the fast lane, stop beside the traffic to refuel, but the temptation to take a picture is always there and the factory is part of the landscape.
I don't live "in the sticks", but in a bizarre hybrid landscape between the natural park and the steel plant, among the Tuscan countryside and the city traffic. My contribution can be nice, and Steve taught me one thing: sharing a passion generates passion.
C'mon, friends, we're needed!
