Prendetevi cura delle cromature. In climi asciutti, caldi e zone poco polverose, le cromature troverebbero il posto ideale. Purtroppo vivo su un promontorio, il mare sta tutto intorno, il vento e' spesso forte e la salsedine vola attaccandosi ovunque. Non e' un grosso problema per le vernici metallizzate ma lo e' per le cromature. Specialmente quelle delicate, infatti, come quella del portapacchi anteriore che e' un accessorio aggiuntivo, tendono a far traspirare la salinita' restituendo piccoli granelli di ruggine che si depositano sulla superficie lucida irruvidendola.

Toglere questi depositi e' una palla mostruosa, lo si fa con prodotti specifici nauseabondi e porta via un sacco di tempo. Pertanto, se tenete alla vostra Vespa e non volete spendere centinaia di euro per ricromare o ricomprare le parti cromate, seguite queste poche ed efficaci regole:

- quando rientrate a casa passate anche velocemente uno straccio sulle cromature per togliere loro lo sporco, l'umidita' e la salsedine
- periodicamente passate un prodotto tipo Sidol per tenerle pulite dalle efflorescenze che si formano comunque in minima parte
- quando le avete pulite con il disincrostante, spruzzateci un protettivo come il grasso al silicone (va benissimo il prodotto per lucidare i cruscotti) che tiene lontana l'acqua.

Take care of chrome. In dry climates, hot and non-dusty areas, chrome find the ideal place. I unfortunately live on a promontory, the sea is all around, the wind is often strong and the saltiness sticks everywhere. Not a big problem for metallic paint, but it is for chrome. Especially the delicate ones, as the front rack, that's an additional accessory, tend to let the saltiness pass, returning small grains of rust which collect on the shiny surface gloss making it become rough.
To wipe these deposits is a pain in the ass, it's done with specific and stinky products and it takes away a lot of time. Therefore, if you care about your Vespa and you don't want to spend hundreds of bucks to re-chrome parts or buying new ones, follow these few and effective rules:
- When you return home quickly pass a rag on chrome to remove dirt, moisture 'and saltiness.
- Periodically pass a Sidol-like product to keep them clean by efflorescence that minimally however generate.
- After you clean with this products, spray some protective silicone grease upon chrome (dashboards polish is a good product to accomplish this task), and it will keep away the water.
Your Vespa will thank you... And even your wallet!
