Autunno - Autumn

Riding in the weekend seemed to have become a prehistoric habit, as in the past month Saturdays and Sundays I never had the opportunity to put my ass on the saddle; I went to Elena's twice in a row, then I went to Valencia (hell, I still haven't written that review...) and did that by plane, eheh, then I was in Florence for a fair and as Elena's hometown is much nearer to Florence than mine, I ended up going there by train once again. I neither could bring with me the only other riding tool I'm proud of, i.e. one of my skateboarding decks (yes, in my spare time I also build decks, check them here) so my will to go and enjoy this warm autumn was strong.
I was missing all those beautiful colors you see when you cross the countryside upon unpaved roads, I missed the contact with the ground and - fellows from my hometown would understand this - I just needed to "go and pick". What? Pick up whatever I find, be it fruits or spontaneous plants, beet, leeks. This time we found some good myrthus berries, enough to be transformed in sweet aromatic liquor. And that fig tree, well, it reminded me I was missing yellows, beautiful yellow-to-red tones you can only enjoy if you dive into them by a two wheeled means. Don't miss autumn, it's a beauty (even if Counting Crows were expected to release a new album and decided to delay it till next year...)

Hi Ale -
RispondiEliminaThanks for your notes - I have been insanely busy and feel horrible it has taken me until now to respond to you! And I have had a note to myself sitting on my desk for over a week to post a new photo on Vespa Vagabond. Maybe tomorrow.... And yes, I did have a birthday... Look forward to reading your stories too, Shreve
thanks for feedback Shreve.
RispondiEliminaand Happy Birthday, even if late!
Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year, I love when one feels the crisp air coming in after summer and views the beautiful colors. Really liked your images. Here is South Florida it is green all year, we don't have the luxury of leaves changing colors in the Fall.
RispondiEliminaEvery season has its own fascinating scenery, here. I best like autumn maybe because I was born in late September...
