L'Insetto Scoppiettante è dal dottore.

No, non che sia malato, è che lo scorso 5 Maggio ha compiuto tre anni oltre la soglia dei 43.000 chilometri e un tagliando se lo meritava tutto. Fausto, il meccanico del Poggetto, m'ha fatto un'ottima impressione. Il fine settimana lo passerò esattamente nello stesso posto in cui un anno fa feci quel piccolo incidente con un BMW X5, stavolta in auto, mentre l'Insetto se ne sta tra le mani del dottore a farsi rimettere in forma. Lo riprenderò la prossima settimana con un cambio d'olio, la sostituzione dei rulli del variatore e della cinghia, la regolazione dei livelli, dei freni, una controllata seria al cuscinetto dello sterzo e alla forcella e tutta una serie di controlli standard. La scorsa settimana ho fatto sostituire anche la gomma posteriore; la stagione dei viaggi lunghi non può farci paura. A presto!

The Chuggabug is at the doctor's.

No, it's not ill, but last May 5th it turned three years old over the edge of 43.000 kilometers and it really merited good maintenance. Fausto, the mechanic at Poggetto (one of my hometown's suburbs) positively impressed me. I'll drive by car this weekend to the very same place where exactly one year ago I hit that BMW X5 while the Chuggabug rests under the doctor's hands to be put in good shape. I'll get it back next week with new oil, new belt and rollers, every level set, checked brakes, a serious check at the steer bearing and at the fork as well as a whole series of standard checks. Last week I also substituted the rear tire; the long rides' season can't frighten us! See ya, folks!
