The road not taken

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
[Robert Frost]

Ora non attendo che la primavera per tornare a fare qualche deviazione e qualche foto, godermi un caffè e due parole con il barista. Tutto un'altro modo di affrontare le giornate di lavoro.
Cold weeks and an unbelievable rainy season which caused floods in vast areas limited my freedom of riding the Chuggabug as well. Now that the sun is shining again, and as a good omen for the forthcoming days, I'd like to post some pictures of a pleasant detour which, partly cutting short through the promontory on unpaved tracks, offers a lovely diversion from the province road, for a part at least.

Piombino lies on a promontory which detaches from the flat coastline rising for nearly a thousand feet; the main inward road follows the outline of the hill, the inner tracks (mainly paths in the wood) twirl in a dense scrub with steep slopes which sometimes approach twenty per cent.
Now I'm just waiting for spring to come to be able to detour again, shoot some pictures and enjoy a coffee and some chat with the bartender. A whole different way to front a working day.
