It is a bit of time I don't post anything on the trip to Sardinia, So I resume from where I stopped. There is only one road that leads to Arbus and then Guspini, and it passes through the abandoned mines of S'Ingurtosu. The building is spectral, charming, it seems almost born in black and white so it can be photographed. Located on a dusty curve, it indicates as a mammoth bastion the border between the dirt road and the asphalt. From there we start, through a tiny village of Tyrolean-style heritage of the old owners of the mine, to come after many curves to Arbus and then again in Guspini.
The road leading to the deep south of Sardinia, in August, is terribly hot. The Guspini and Arbus curves leave the place to straight roads but even more monotonous, which sometimes approaching and sometimes leaving the coast slowly bring to the island Sant'Antioco. We come sufficiently close to the island at around lunchtime and attracted by the idea of approaching along coastal roads, we arrive in Portoscuso where with our great surprise to a center with a waterfront Cote d'Azur style joins the larger industrial complex for the production of

The camping is expensive and indecent, salty water from the taps, very dirty toilets and the staff is the most discourteous of Italy. Avoid like the plague the Camping "Le Saline". Fleeing between insults and discussions we take the first ferry in the morning for the small island of St. Peter's where we have a surprise and we'll pass a bit disappointing and demanding day.
In the next episode: St. Peter and Sant'Antioco again!
Thanks for posting an English translation for us. The trip did not sound like a whole lotta fun! Especially the Camp...hope the next leg of the trip is more enjoyable. We just posted a newspaper link on our blog about a Christmas Motorcycle ride for charity. Check it out.
RispondiEliminaan english translation is just necessary if i wanna be read, even if the stats say that the biggest part of my readers comes from Italy...
RispondiEliminaabout the trip, well, you might haven't understood it but it was *great*, even if we experienced some troubles; this is one of the aspects of traveling against being just a tourist, and it's important to me.
did you read the previous episodes? maybe you're missing the fun!
and the camp, oh, I *love*to camp freely even if my back hurts, the following day; in Italy it's forbidden, so any chance to camp freely is a thrill!
Gonna take a look at the Charity initiative.
ciao!
