80.150

Sooner or later it had to happen: the Chuggabug hit 80.150 km which is twice the World tour. I took the time to do a litte math and discover that I burnt more than 2800 litres of gasoline which, in turn, left me a little sorry even if I still pollute far less than the average car driver, with his higher consumption rates and its many unnecessary stops while slowly queueing along busy roads.
It happened along one of those lovely and quiet country roads I ride upon to go back home, the sun so low projecting on the ground the long shadows of the telephone poles and the trees; I had to stop to take some pictures, listening to the usual sounds of the countryside: a tiller, some dogs barking and the occasional chirping of birds to me unknown. It's pleasant and reassuring.

The gravel path is scattered with holes so I have to take care before getting on paved roads again, heading home once more and while the sun is slowly setting down I moon over a celebration post for this long long and nearly twelve years long trip.
Many pictures in my head, my hard drive, my strips of film.
